This painting of mine was completed about two years ago. I love it, but reaction to it has been lukewarm.

Variation on Chinese Opera Masks, oil on canvas, 36x48"

Recently, I saw a somewhat similar painting that had black lines around the areas of color, and I wondered whether my Masks painting would benefit from the same treatment, so I Photoshopped them in:

I really like the lines. There's not a lot of contrast in this canvas, unlike most of my other geometric abstractions, and the lines give the image more impact. I asked my Facebook followers to vote on the images, and most liked the image without the lines. I'm going to trust my gut on this one and put the lines on the canvas. Nothing to lose!
