I think Frank Sinatra would have bought my painting
Variation on Japanese Maple oil on canvas, 36x48"
I love the way this technique fractures the light coming through the tree's leaves.
About a month after I finished this painting, an image of Frank Sinatra's Palm Springs home appeared in the New York Times, and it made me gasp a little:
My contention that my geometric abstractions would look great in a mid-century home was definitely borne out by this, don't you think? Maybe this post should have been entitled: 'I think Frank Sinatra's interior designer would have bought my painting.'
Cheers, m'dears!
